Discover the Race Formats

Not everyone comes to a Backyard looking for the same thing. Some want to discover the format, others want to test themselves for several hours, and others want to find out just how far they can go.

That’s why, at the PROVITAL Backyard Ultra – Gran Canaria, you can choose from different ways to take on the challenge:

ULTRA · CHALLENGE · FUN RUN · INCLUSIVE

DIFFERENT CHALLENGES. ONE BELL.

The ULTRA format can be raced individually or in pairs. You choose how to take it on.

INDIVIDUAL
One lap every hour. No limit. You continue for as long as you can complete each lap within the allotted time and be back at the start for the next one.

PAIRS
Each team member runs their own race, and they do not need to run together. The pair’s ranking is determined by the total number of laps completed by both team members.

MEN · WOMEN · MIXED

Seven laps. Seven stars Seven hours to take on the Backyard format.

Each hour, you’ll have to complete 6.706 km, return to the starting corral and be ready to go again when the bell rings.

It’s not just about running fast. You’ll need to know how to pace yourself, recover, eat, hydrate and decide how much to push on each lap, because in this format, every second counts from the very first start.

Every lap adds up. Every second counts.

The final ranking will be determined by the total accumulated time over all 7 laps. The winner will be the participant who completes all 7 laps with the lowest total accumulated time.

It’s not just about lasting seven hours. It’s about finding the right balance between speed, strategy and recovery.

7 laps. 46.9 km. One goal: the lowest accumulated time.
